About

Hi, I’m Carlos. I’m a Fullstack Web Developer from Colombia. I have 15+ years of experience as Web Developer and I’ve been working remotely for clients in the states and other parts of the world for 10+ years. It’s been a long time I know. I used to search things in Altavista and my first web site was a Pantera (metal band) fan page hosted in geocities 😎.

I’ve been passionate about web technologies since I can remember and I’ve seen the evolution of many of them. I still remember when I had to debug Javascript code using alerts, that was really annoying, and that’s probably why I didn’t like Javascript that much back then. But I also remember the first time I tried gmail when it was invitation-only and seeing pages updating without a page refresh was like magic, a new era for Javascript started.

Most of what I’ve learned has been thanks to open source so as way to give back to the community I started a Web Development YouTube channel to share with other developers all the things I know I and I constantly learn. I prefer to learn from video tutorials but I also write articles for this blog so others who prefer to read can have access to the same info, also writing is a great learning exercise for me.

I invest a lot of my free time creating this content and it takes a lot of time and effort, especially when you have a family and other responsibilities. If you find this blog and any of the content I produce helpful please consider sharing it, that’s all I ask. The more people I can reach the better. It takes no time to click on a like button or doing a retweet and I’ll really appreciate it.

I spent most of my time coding but I also enjoy doing other things like traveling, photography, video games and Futbol (the one you play with your legs), you can find some of my pictures on my Instagram, I’m a big fan of dev stickers and tech so if you are into that make sure to follow me.

I love to attend tech conferences and meetups when possible. It’s a great way to connect with other developers and like-minded people. I organize a local PHP meetup and a React meetup so if you are in Cali (Colombia) or happen to be traveling there make sure to attend our meetups.
